Ans: 4:25

Volume of a cone = (1/3) * Pi * r2 *h
Ratio of volumes = (4 * 4* 1)/ (5 * 5 * 4) = 4: 25

222. A cylinder of height 14 cm has a volume of 1100 cm3 determine the base radius of the cylinder.
a. 10 cm   b. 7.5 cm  c. 5 cm  d. 2.5 cm

Ans: 5 cm

Volume of a cylinder = Pi * r2 * h
1100 = (22/7) * r2 * 14
r=5 cm

223. Find the time in which Rhett can cover a distance of 3 km running at a speed of 12m/minutes.

Ans: 4.10 hours

Convert given speed into km/hour
12m/minutes= ( 12 (1/1000))/1/60 = 12*60 / 1000 kmph
Time = distance / speed = 4.10 hours
224. Find the remainder when 83*85*87*88*91 is divided by 41.

Ans: 31
Divide individual terms with 41 find out remainders
That is (1 * 3 * 5 * 6 * 9)/41 = 31

225. If the selling price of an article is (2/3)rd of its cost price, then find the profit/loss percent.
a. 20% profit   b. 33% profit  c. 33% loss   d. 20% loss

Ans: 33% loss

Let’s say cost price is x
Then selling price = (2/3)* x
Profit or loss % =( ( selling price – cost price )/ Cost price )  * 100

= 33% loss  ( negative sign indicates loss )
